About Bounty

History

Old Bounty Pack PhotoBounty introduced its first pack in 1959. Since then, in order to grow our market share, hundreds of brands have used an ever widening choice of Bounty products and services ranging from publications, sampling programmes, online and data solutions.

Over the years, we have optimised these channels and as a result now not only satisfy a demanding consumer audience, but also enjoy the lasting support and appreciation of health and education professionals.

Founded in 1959 by Bill Hopewell-Smith, the company was initially based in London and counted 6 employees and launched its first sample offering - The New Mother Pack.

  • 1961 - Agreement with Royal College of Midwives to contact their 200 branches to distribute pack claim cards to new mother
  • 1965 - Launch of Your Baby Guide
  • 1966 - Introduction of Bounty Field Force
  • 1971 - Bounty moves to Diss, Norfolk
  • 1981 - Bounty delivered its new mum pack to the Princess of Wales
  • 1983 - First edition of Your Pregnancy guide published and launch of Mum to be pack
  • 1988 - Launch of Baby's Progress Pack
  • 1990 - Offices open in Hertfordshire
  • 1994 - Launch of Bounty Health Network
  • 1995 - MBI by management team in conjunction with venture capital funding from Brown Shipley (now Albermarle)
  • 1997 - Snyder Communication acquired Bounty
  • 1998 - Bounty Photographic launched
  • 1999 - First edition of Weaning and Health guide and Being a Dad guide published
  • 2000 - Havas acquired Snyder. Launch of Bounty.com
  • 2001 - First edition of Your Toddler guide published
  • 2003 - First edition of Planning Your Pregnancy guide published
  • 2005 - MBO in conjunction with venture capital funding from ECI
  • 2007 - Bounty bought by Canadian online media company, Kaboose for £70m

    Today Bounty distributes 3.4 million packs and employs 590 people 465 of whom form our national field force
